Once Upon A Garden is a speculative archive of critically endangered and extinct flora that we have little to no records of, and therefore no way to remember.
Artist Linda Dounia Rebeiz uses AI as a time machine to piece together visual data about flowers we have not bothered recording using sparse and fragmented available records.
The installation presents 50 emergent species of speculative flora across 5 chapters. reflecting AI models’ improvements in synthesizing images based on context.
Linda Dounia is an artist, designer, and writer interested in the philosophical and environmental implications of technocapitalism. A Senegalese- Lebanese artist, her artistic practice mediates her memories as alternative realities and evidence of excluded ways of being and doing.

Following the Festival, the installation will remain open until 18 October.
