Born from a shared vision of transparency and purpose, Golden Earth Studio and bloobloom unite to celebrate a new vision that brings attention to overlooked materials, communities and the future of design.
Golden Earth Studio and bloobloom share a vision for art and design in the Anthropocene. Rooted in transparency, circular materials, and ethical craftsmanship, this collaboration explores how reclaimed form can meet refined function. During London Design Festival, bloobloom’s Covent Garden store will become a space of clay immersion. Lined with terracotta tiles, the store will host new works from Golden Earth Studio artists, each transforming London’s clay waste into fine art and functional design. In the UK, 29 million tonnes of excavation waste are sent to landfill each year. Only half is recovered for secondary use. At Golden Earth Studio, we see an opportunity to change this by reclaiming by-products from construction sites and reimagining them as fine art and functional ware. Visitors are invited to witness this transformation firsthand, through sculptures by ceramicist Jihuyun Kim, rammed earth wall pieces by Adam Weissman, and paintings by Alexandra Wong. Alongside many more artworks, we demonstrate how waste can become both materially responsible and deeply desirable.
