David Gill Gallery is pleased to present the inaugural design exhibition by acclaimed sculptor Saint Clair Cemin. The new body of work explores elusive temporality, with Cemin revealing in the sense that we might not know what era his sculpture or design has come from. “I like the idea of the lack of synchronicity.
Saint Clair Cemin’s new bronze collection of candleholders, tables, seating, and a chandelier evokes a playful postmodern spirit while drawing inspiration from the natural world. Whales rest in trees as monkeys swing through the air, and a spider-like chandelier stretches across space, reflecting his ‘rococo sauvage’ style, where form and animal shapes bring warmth and imagination to every piece.
