‘Stage left, letter pressed’ is an exhibition celebrating the written history of East London by transdisciplinary artist, poet and photographer, Rosie Reed Gold.
Inspired by Shoreditch’s historical connection to the Curtain theatre, where some of Shakespeare’s earlier plays, including Romeo and Juliet where performed, as well as the craftsmanship of the Caslon Letterpress Foundry in Hackney Wick, this exhibition explores the cartography of language. Involving installation, video, sound and interactive pieces, this exhibition is not just a show, but a collaboration between the artist, the hotel, and its guests.
