Tea Encounters explores the poetic encounter between tea and fabric. In this workshop, participants will brew natural dye baths from green, black, or oolong tea, practice folding and binding techniques, and create unique hand-dyed textiles to take home as gentle gifts from nature.
At this intimate blending table, you are invited to become your own milk tea perfumer. Begin by choosing from three tea bases — the airy elegance of jasmine, the deep aftertaste of oolong, or the warm richness of black tea. Then add your own twist with two of three spices: the gentle heat of cardamom, the cozy warmth of cinnamon, or the floral fragrance of osmanthus. Layer by layer, your unique flavour code unfolds. Where tea meets aroma, another ritual begins: with your own hands, stitch a small, scented sachet. In the fast rhythm of daily life, crafting a sachet is a pause, a blessing, and a soft yet powerful gesture. Whether you keep it in your wardrobe, tuck it by your pillow, or gift it to someone special, it becomes a token of care and presence. In addition, the workshop introduces the art of tea dyeing: -Learn the cultural background and basics of tea dyeing -Brew natural dye baths with green, black, or oolong tea -Explore binding and folding techniques (tie, wrap, fold, clamp) -Create and take home your own tea-dyed textile — a handkerchief, tote, or small cloth This tea-dyeing journey opens a gentle world where fabric and tea meet. Using only natural leaves and simple materials, participants will discover how every thread, every pattern, is both a trace of their own hands and a tender gift from nature.
