#SlanchaCarBootSale

Slancha, in collaboration with Formd, presents a reimagining of the classic car boot sale, poetic, complex, and communal. Emerging designers from across the UK showcase one-of-a-kind works made from reused and repurposed materials, exploring the hidden value of objects and the stories they carry.

Slancha, in collaboration with Formd, presents The Car Boot Sale, a group exhibition reimagining the classic car boot sale through the lens of contemporary design. Car boot sales are spaces of chance, community, and quiet chaos - where the past lives of objects are on display and value is found in the overlooked. This show captures that spirit and reinterprets it as something poetic and complex. Sixteen emerging designers from across the UK were invited to explore this theme, with an emphasis on using reused and repurposed materials. The result is a diverse collection of one-of-a-kind pieces: sculptural, functional, reflective, and sometimes playful, all asking what design becomes when we begin with what already exists. Together, the works explore memory, material afterlives, and what we choose to discard or preserve. Exhibiting designers include: Studio EAST×EAST, George Richardson Studio, Jake Robertson, Marc Sweeney, Adit Abhey Poonia, Emilia Tombolesi, Iona McVean, By Jamps, Thisisbyron, By George Exon, Korrom, Militsa Milenkova, James Stephenson, Emmely Elgersma, James Grossman, Oliver Spendley, and Thomas Wheller.
