During this year’s London Design Festival, &Tradition opens the doors to its London showroom to present The Living Archive – a vision of what it means to live with Rombe, the debut design by Industrial Facility for &Tradition.

An exhibition orientated around sculptural utility, the &Tradition showroom presents the expansive potential of Rombe in a variety of configurations, with every room enriched by a collection of books, artworks, and objects curated by 8 Holland Street. Built as both a stage and a structure for storage, display, and work, the Rombe shelving reveals its unique openness – allowing the environment around and behind it to remain visible, creating a sense of continuity rather than division. A concept first explored by &Tradition during this year’s 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, The Living Archive considers the ever-evolving architecture of domestic and professional life that is shaped not only by design, but by individual narratives. Overlooking St James’s Park, the showroom depicts a collection of classic and contemporary pieces in a way that feels inherently personal. A reflection of the brand’s thoughtful approach to creating spaces of enduring appeal, each room embodies the beauty of the lived experience, and the unique patina it reveals over time. This concept is further explored through a collaborative presentation of artworks and objects curated by 8 Holland Street – a gallery and design studio recognised for its extensive collection of artworks, vintage furniture, ceramics, rare textiles, and lighting.
