Presented by Qloud Collective, this group exhibition brings together nine international artists whose tactile practices explore the emotional depth of handmade forms. Through a variety of tactile techniques, the exhibition invites you to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the gentle power of making.
Qloud Collective is proud to present The Sun is but a Morning Star, a group exhibition spotlighting nine international artists working at the intersection of craft, material, and intimacy. Opening to the public on the 14th of September 2025 during the London Design Festival, held at the Great Pulteney Street Gallery, the show explores how contemporary approaches to textiles and tactile practices can express tenderness, intimacy, poetic transformation and innovation. The exhibition, inspired by Henry David Thoreau’s evocative line “The sun is but a morning star”, invites a reflection on beginnings, quiet revolutions, and the poetic spiritual force of making. In a time shaped by efficiency and overwhelm, against a backdrop of urgency, crisis, and acceleration in the current world, the show asks: how do we make in an urgent world? What might slowness and the handmade offer us today, not as a retreat, but as a response? Featuring artists from the United Kingdom, South Korea, and Singapore, the exhibition brings together diverse perspectives that embrace the ability of the hands while embracing experimental approaches to form, narrative and experience. Each work offers viewers a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the physical, to ‘feel’ and to feel.
