1. "Reimagining the Everyday: Illuminating Ideas from the Artist’s Studio"

A collection of new limited-edition works—spanning lighting, tables and mirrors—is presented within the artist’s East London studio. Continuing Stuart Haygarth’s long-standing exploration of found and repurposed objects and their potential for reinvention, the exhibition reimagines everyday materials, imbuing them with new identities and layered significance. At the core of Haygarth’s practice is the elevation of the ordinary and the discarded. His exquisite designs and installations draw from the flotsam and jetsam of contemporary life—whether composed of thousands of spent nitrous oxide capsules or salvaged vintage vanity mirrors. Through processes of collecting, categorising, and composing, Haygarth imposes order and symmetry onto randomness and waste, translating overlooked fragments into objects of beauty and value. This act of transformation is not purely aesthetic - it always has narrative potential. Haygarth’s work engages with themes of time, loss, abandonment, and modernity. The histories and human traces embedded within the materials become central to their reimagining. As the artist reflects: “My work revolves around everyday objects, often collected in large quantities and over long periods of time, categorised and presented in such a way that they are given new meaning. It is about banal and overlooked items gaining new significance while paying attention to their stories and journeys.”
