Urban Stomach is an exhibition and 3d printing performance showing the work of Blast Studio on transforming urban waste into furniture and architecture thanks to robots and living organisms. During 3 days, visitors will be able to see the entire process of digestion: from the waste to the unique 3d printed artefact.
There is no waste in nature, the trash of an organism is the resource of another one. Inspired by these natural ecosystems, Blast Studio created a cycle where urban waste is transformed thanks to living organisms and new technology into unique structures. During the London Design Festival, Blast Studio will showcase its process through a live 3d printing performance with a pop-up café. All the waste produced by the visitors will be recycled on site and transformed into artefacts by the Blast 3d-printer during the 3 days of opening. The performance will be coupled with an exhibition showing unique artworks and furniture 3d printed from urban waste and taken over by mycelium, the roots of fungi.
