For the London Design Festival 2026, USM Modular Furniture collaborate with Symbol Audio and The Vinyl Factory, hosting ‘USM RECORD SHOP’. Within the context of a working record shop, USM launch new USM Speaker Modules from Symbol Audio to the UK market, in an immersive space - celebrating Vinyl, Music and Design.

For the London Design Festival 2026, USM Modular Furniture collaborate with Symbol Audio and The Vinyl Factory, hosting ‘USM RECORD SHOP’ at the USM store, Marylebone. USM has a longstanding, collaboration with US based, Symbol Audio – working together on furniture specifically for the display and storage of vinyl. Display Cabinets, Record Stands, a DJ Booth, Audio and Media Consoles and Vinyl Crates are now part of the core USM Modular Furniture collection, developed originally by Symbol Audio and with both listeners and the design conscious in mind. Within the context of a working record shop, for LDF USM will launch new USM Speaker Modules from Symbol Audio to the UK market. The collection of precision-engineered, sound solutions integrate seamlessly within the architectural constructs of existing USM Modular furniture. Pieces include Speakers, Subwoofers with Each design comes with special grilles and rear panels for cable management. A collaboration with The Vinyl Factory, a globally renowned record label, pressing plant, magazine and curator/collaborator for audio-visual arts, allows visitors to browse a selection of new and old vinyl, experience DJ sets co-curated with USM, have coffee in a bespoke bar from Origin, and learn more on the history of Vinyl and the influence that music has had, on contemporary design. ‘USM RECORD SHOP’ reflects the cultural significance and journey through time, of Vinyl, of design and in a space that celebrates not only music, but the versatility of USM Modular Furniture on a growing domestic and commercial, fashion-led settings. Taking its initials from Founder, Ulrich Schärer, and Münsingen, the Swiss village where he was born, since its creation in 1885 as a metal factory, USM has kept roots in Münsingen, Switzerland The USM system – designed by architect Fritz Haller and engineer Paul Schärer, comprises 3 basic elements - a tube joint, colourful, powder coated metal panels, and chrome plated steel balls.
