1:4:9

1:4:9

1:4:9 is a London-based design studio creating furniture, lighting and spatial objects through computational design, digital fabrication and material experimentation. The studio explores how making can remain visible in the finished object. Using large-format additive manufacturing, 1:4:9 develops forms through repetition, layering and controlled machine movement, creating a sense of order through rhythm, structure and measured variation. Across furniture, lighting and spatial installations, the studio treats fabrication as part of the design language. Each object reflects the behaviour of its material and the conditions of its production, balancing digital precision with material expression.
