Francesca Lanzavecchia

Francesca Lanzavecchia

Francesca Lanzavecchia's design approach is bold, eclectic and deeply empathetic. Born in Pavia in 1983, she studied Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano before graduating with honours in Conceptual Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2008. For Lanzavecchia, design is research, engineering, craftsmanship and storytelling all at once, creating objects that act as both functional tools and emotional companions. Guided by a commitment to Universal Design, her work places the human condition, its limits, fragilities and diversity, at the centre, producing work that is adaptive, ergonomic and responsive: a second skin designed to support everyday life in moments of both strength and vulnerability. In 2010 she co-founded Lanzavecchia + Wai with Hunn Wai, based between Milan and Singapore. Since 2023 she has also led her own independent practice, transforming objects and spaces into gestures and rituals that quietly shape relationships, emotions and everyday poetry.
