Sam Ghantous (Lebanon/Canada) is an itinerant artist based in Zurich working with the entanglements between contemporary media, material environments and myths of progress. Drawing on techniques from the web, architecture, video games and commercial reproduction, he traces the circuits through which technological systems reshape how we inhabit the world. His recent work focuses on computing and the materials, geographies and temporal systems that sustain it, making connections between silicon chips, golf, clocks and artificial islands to question narratives of technological immateriality and inevitable advancement. Sam studied architecture at MIT, has taught at MIT and Cornell University, and currently teaches at ETH Zurich. His work has been presented at Spatial Affairs with ZKM and Ludwig Museum, Art Basel Hong Kong, Postmasters Gallery and YveYANG Gallery. His work 'your golf course made my GPU' will be on view at the V&A for the London Design Festival.
