Sam Jacob is director of Sam Jacob Studio for architecture and design, making buildings, places, strategies and objects. Recent projects include a mixed-use building in Hoxton, offices for ArtReview, the V&A's Cromwell Road entrance, exhibitions for the Design Museum, London Museum and Somerset House, and the Science Museum Group's National Collections Centre housing over 300,000 objects. His work has been shown at the Art Institute of Chicago, MAK Vienna and the V&A, and at the Venice Architecture Biennale, where he co-curated the British Pavilion in 2016. He is a columnist for ArtReview, author of Make It Real: Architecture as Enactment, and Professor and Dean of the Institute of Architecture at die Angewandte, Vienna. Sam has been called a 'Spartist' by Roger Scruton; 'more frivolous than Hans Hollein' by Hermann Czech; a 'pervert and degenerate' by Robert Venturi; and 'a tenacious embryo pummelling away with persistent elbows' by Nicola Barker.
