Somer launches at LDF this year; a new UK furniture brand built for the circular economy and a low carbon future. Join a the three day Somer showcase, exploring the intersection between craft, design and sustainable British manufacturing.

Somer will be launching as the UK’s first timber modular furniture system founded on a circular production and economic model. Designed as freestanding demountable cabinets, Somer’s 100% solid timber system is manufactured in Frome, Somerset, championing sustainability and British manufacturing. Exhibiting over four days between September 18th-21st, and hosted by founder William Floyd Maclean, Somer is popping up at the London Design Festival in September 2024, to offer an exclusive preview of the product to visitors and collaborators, as it officially launches to market. Centered on environmentally conscious practice and craftsmanship, the Somer Showcase will provide an insight into the current industry; examining methodology that challenges the highly wasteful status quo of mass-market and high end built in furniture products. Visitors will be able to interact freely in the space and interrogate the bespoke timber installation. The Somer team will be available for consultation on private enquiries. Pre-orders of the modular, versatile system are now open to the public. Founder: Somer arrives as the first major evolution from architectural joiner William Floyd Maclean of WFM&Co, an industry-renowned craftsman with a wide-ranging portfolio working with the best in British architecture and design including Hayatsu architects, Tuckey Design Studio, and the Royal Academy.
