Join us from the 12th Sept. at Clink Street Window gallery that will be transformed into an egg, a vessel to host a cabinet of display of objects include a table lamp with ceramic and timber wood, a table lamp with ceramic and tufted tapestry lampshade and a series of architectural ceramic vessels.

This year at London Design Festival, Abid Javed studio invites industry professionals, collectors and design enthusiasts to witness a physical narrative of handmade design. Entitled ‘An Egg, A Vessel’, the exhibit reimagines the Clink Street window gallery in the heart of London Bridge as an egg-shaped vessel with a cabinet of design display; A form which is biologically symbolic for new beginnings and fitting with emerging design philosophies. From the 12th of Sept – 22nd of Sept., the exhibit showcases innovative lamp design by cross-collaboration with two designers across disciplines and complemented with architectural ceramic vessels. More specifically, the objects include a table lamp that pairs stoneware ceramic lampshade with reclaimed timber wood lamp base (in collaboration with Sophie Sellu), a table lamp combining a stoneware ceramic lamp base with a richly tufted tapestry lamp shade (In collaboration with Bettina Willnauer) and a series of handmade ceramic vessels (Clink Street Ceramics). Together, the lamps & vessels cast an atmospheric, embryonic glow across the space and showcase the prowess of individual materials as well as when paired together. Each element in the display has been meticulously engineered to challenge our perception of form and origin. By transforming the concept of the egg from a simple, biological incubator into a sculptural experience, the exhibition highlights how thoughtful material experimentation and the results of collaborative effort can give birth to new design perspectives.
