For the 2025 edition of London Design Festival, Aram will present Beyond Foam, an exhibition curated by EcoLattice exploring sustainable alternatives to conventional foam. Alongside this, Aram will showcase Array by Snøhetta for MDF Italia, a modular sofa system designed for circularity, flexibility and comfort.

Aram will present Beyond Foam, a new exhibition curated by the innovative research startup EcoLattice in Aram’s gallery space. The showcase aims to address the challenges posed by conventional polyurethane foam, a material widely used in furniture design, through the lens of eight emerging UK-based designers utilising EcoLattice's ingenious 3D-printed lattice foam replacement. Founded by materials engineer Yash Shah in 2020, EcoLattice was created in response to the growing pollution crisis. While studying at Central Saint Martins, Shah developed a passion for 3D printed materials and began exploring alternatives to foam, which he saw as toxic and nearly impossible to recycle. Through experimentation, he designed EcoLattice’s foam replacement, an innovative structure made from elastomers, such as those used in TPU phone cases and automotive waste, which is recyclable, scalable and affordable. Opening on Thursday 11 September and running until Saturday 1 November 2025, the Beyond Foam exhibition spotlights these new material possibilities through a series of prototypes and conceptual works. The show demonstrates how sustainability and innovation can be embedded in design from the start, offering a fresh perspective on one of the industry’s most widely used materials. Also on view during the festival is a special installation of the Array modular sofa system by Snøhetta for MDF Italia, hosted by Aram Trade in its third-floor space. Designed by Snøhetta to maximise flexibility, reduce environmental impact, and simplify logistics, Array introduces a new approach to sofa design. Its small-scale modules allow for a wide range of configurations and can be easily disassembled, transported, replaced, or recycled. The robust injection-moulded base features a hollow core to minimise material use. With its forward-thinking construction and refined visual language, Array is designed for both residential and commercial contexts. It considers comfort not only in ergonomic terms, but across the entire supply chain, making it a compelling example of how design can evolve to meet contemporary environmental and logistical challenges. Together, these presentations demonstrate Aram’s ongoing commitment to innovation and championing the next generation of design thinking during London Design Festival 2025.
