Strength, purity and a commitment to sustainability: the new Origata collection by Nao Tamura makes its debut at Porro London amidst the brand’s systems and collections, blending advanced technology and meticulous craftsmanship.

For the third consecutive year, Porro takes part in the London Design Festival showcasing its expertise in architectural design, pure shapes, extremely precise workmanship and material innovation. Opened in September 2022, the Porro London showroom is located in the King Cross area north of the city, inside the historic brick building along Regent’s Canal, where designer Tom Dixon’s headquarters are also located. The new 2024 collection is represented by the new Origata console designed by the Japanese designer Nao Tamura. A monolithic design, Origata console and bench draw inspiration from the art of making kimonos, the traditional Japanese garment. Similar to how kimonos are crafted from a flat, rectangular fabric that is cut in straight lines and sewn together to minimise waste, these pieces of furniture are created from a single sheet of aluminium that is cut and assembled using screws, maximising the use of material.
