Leading industrial design studio BLOND presents BLOND LABORATORY during the London Design Festival 2024, a touring exhibition debuting in Milan earlier this year. The exhibition sees seven global designers respond to the BLOND ARTEFACTS initiative, which focuses on creation informed by objects no longer in production.
The BLOND LABORATORY exhibition, hosted during Milan Design Week 2024, tasked designers to respond to a collection of found everyday objects, sourced and curated by the BLOND team. A stellar roster of international designers and studios, including Hirotaka Tako (Sony), John Tree (John Tree), Jon Marshall (Pentagram), Form Us With Love, Julie Richoz (Julie Richoz Studio), Maddalena Casadei (Maddalena Casadei Studio), and James Melia (BLOND) were invited to contribute designs in response to the BLOND ARTEFACTS studio initiative—taking ‘offline’ inspiration, from real-world objects that are no longer readily in production. The final designs, alongside the objects that inspired them, will be exhibited at 1 Kingsland Road, as part of the Shoreditch Design Triangle during LDF 2024.
