Trent Jansen's striking creations, renowned for their ground-breaking concepts, are shown alongside Studio Waldemeyer, celebrating 20 years of redefining the boundaries of lighting and technology.
At the heart of the exhibition are the striking works by visionary Trent Jansen, inspired by Australia's majestic landscape and its vibrant First Nations People cultures. Collaborating with artisans Tanya Singer, Errol Evans, and Johnny Nargoodah, Jansen's artistry unveils culturally rich pieces that offer fresh insights into land and heritage through inventive techniques. His designs celebrate diverse narratives, seamlessly blending cultural richness with avant-garde innovation. He highlights environmental issues that are integral to contemporary design today. In addition, Studio Waldemeyer celebrates two decades of pushing the boundaries of lighting and technology. Their bespoke installations at Mint harness the transformative power of LEDs and cutting-edge technology, casting mesmerizing lights and effects. Mint reveals a stunning array of luxury glass creations including lighting, furniture, and accessories by Wonderglass. Their modern reinterpretation of glassmaking skilfully blends Venetian craftsmanship with the talents of today’s global art and design community. Their creations promise to evoke an inspiring sense of awe. Mint features a curated selection of this year's standout graduate designers and emerging talents who bring fresh perspectives and innovative contributions to contemporary design. Teun Zwets introduces the Splitted collection, highlighting natural wood grain with pioneering techniques. Ilaria Cavaglia's 'The Popping Sound of Bubble Wrap' series transforms discarded materials into provocative sculptural furniture, blurring organic and synthetic boundaries. Masao (Zhengxiong) Rong's 'Tsuguki' collection revitalizes century-old barn beams, weaving compelling narratives of cultural preservation and sustainability.
