CORKtography, by GENCORK with creative direction by SPECTROOM, maps the brand's key projects in several cities worldwide. It creates a global network forming an exploratory circuit, connecting the remarkable environments where SOFALCA’s expanded black cork is transformed through (re)generative design and sustainability

In a society that is increasingly digital and filled with ephemeral and superficial virtual events, it becomes ever more important to find equilibrium between opposites—digital and physical—that should coexist in our social interactions. To promote the convergence between the material and the immaterial, Gencork, under the creative direction of Spectroom, launches the concept of CORKtography, a mapping of architectural interior projects with various scales and typologies that best define the brand's philosophy, characterized by an endless pursuit of symbiosis between (Re)Generative design and mathematics, geometry, biomimetics, and artificial intelligence. This mapping is done following an analysis of several projects conducted in different latitudes, exploring the unique properties of Sofalca's black cork agglomerate. The environments that stood out, both in public and private spaces, for their technical, creative, and socioeconomic components are selected and catalogued on a map available on the digital platform. The first CORKtography will take place in the vibrant city of London during the London Design Festival, one of the world’s premier design events. The locations: A) Cork Peak pattern at Zaha Hadid Architects Gallery: Visitors will be able to see the Peak pattern developed by the Zaha Hadid Architects team, inspired by the project The Peak Leisure Club (1982-83), and exploring the potential of black cork agglomerate through advanced CNC milling machine systems. B) The c(AI)rcle III exhibited at Bio-Spaces: Regenerative, Resilient Futures - An experiential, multi-sensory exhibition aimed at encouraging a more nature-based approach to design, hosted by Roca Gallery London. Led by Creative Director and Computational Designer Le Brimet, the SPECTROOM Design team presents the concept of Naturology, a fusion of Nature and Technology, implementing innovative generative artificial intelligence tools. Drawing from extensive generative computational knowledge, the creative team harnessed the unique attributes of Sofalca Expanded Black Cork, which is sustainable and 100% natural. They explored advanced artificial intelligence techniques inspired by biomimetics, where nature is the foundation of this co-creation process. The biological complexity of the form explored a multi-platform collaboration, seamlessly integrating software and hardware. The aesthetic quality emerged through algorithms interpreting formal inputs introduced by AI, resulting in an organism that appears to be created by nature. The production explores CNC milling machines, which materialized the collaborative process between human and AI, rendering it tangible and evoking a distinctive sensory experience. This collaboration marks the third chapter of the Pentagon series of collectible art installations by GENCORK, pioneering the application of AI in Art and Design. C) Corkbio pattern design by SPECTROOM presented at Viajante 87, an elegant, intimate, and high-energy cocktail bar in West London.
