Matter Forms is a London-based interdisciplinary design studio founded by Mooka Srisurayotin in 2023. The studio's ethos is to take a material-led approach to architectural design, pushing the boundaries of creativity and sustainability.

With a focus on circulatory and material innovation, Matter Forms specialises in designing, developing, and producing objects and finishes for both public and private spaces, seamlessly integrating their natural aesthetic into high-end design. Oyster[Crete] is the studio’s first material, developed in-house over two years of research. The material transforms discarded oyster shells into a bio-alternative to traditional concrete. Oyster[Crete] not only reduces waste but also offers a sustainable solution for both small design pieces and large-scale architectural projects. Oyster[Crete] will be on display from the 14th to the 21st of September at UJNG, a luxury retail shop featuring independent and global designers located at 77 Redchurch Street. Please check the store hours for opening times. In addition, we will be concluding the festival with an exclusive evening celebration held in collaboration with the zero-waste restaurant Silo on September 22nd. The event will highlight the innovative work of turning local shell waste into design-led interior objects. The event will feature an impressive collection of sustainable designs, including Oyster[Crete] furniture, fixture and interior objects by Matter Forms, crafted from shell waste sourced directly from Silo. Other notable pieces include recycled metal cutlery developed collaboratively with WA=MA, and a Matter Form's x FibreLab designed product made in collaboration with Re_considered, showcasing Fabreco, an innovative new material made from textile waste and applied to furniture for the first time. This invite-only event will engage industry leaders from various sectors, including restaurants, architecture, design, and the creative industries. Attendees will experience an immersive, multi-sensory journey, complete with canapés, champagne, soundscapes, and film projections alongside the visually captivating display of circular products made from waste.
