The work explores the duality between the inner and outer selves of human beings. The exploration of identity and self-recognition is visualised as the process of flipping a book, demonstrating the complexity and multi-faceted nature of the individual in society. The work uses homemade handmade silk paper, combining two materials with special identity-suggesting properties: rice paper and silk. It also references fingerprints, a texture with identity-suggestive properties, to create a wearable artwork. The work reveals both the solidity of an individual's outer shell and the softness and richness of the heart. This work emphasises the fluidity and mutability of identity, encouraging deep self-exploration and awareness from both the viewer's and the wearer's perspective. It reveals the complexity and multifaceted nature of the process an individual goes through in knowing oneself and understanding the world. Through this art form, the work seeks to inspire deep reflection and understanding of self and identity.
