Japan House London presents the GOOD DESIGN AWARD shop to inspire design enthusiasts.
All the products selected for this range have received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD, an accolade given to designs that combine beauty with functional value, which have the potential to improve situations for people and society, now and in the future. At its conception in 1957, the GOOD DESIGN AWARD was the first and continues as the only comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system in Japan. The award seeks out elements of design that explore the following five themes: humanity, honesty, innovation, aesthetics and ethics. Award-winning products are distinguished by the use of the "G Mark," now widely recognized as a symbol of good design. Companies and designers from Japan and the rest of the world are invited to participate in the GOOD DESIGN AWARD process to maintain high standards throughout the industry and thereby increase the quality of life for all through design.
