&Tradition invites you to an immersive exhibition taking place in its London showroom, introducing the latest classic designer to join its growing portfolio – Robin Day. A significant figure of 20th-century British furniture design, Day’s influence on the left a lasting impression that endures many decades later.

Characterised by boundless creativity, Robin Day’s works represented a pivotal shift in the collective, post-war mindset towards form and materiality. A collection of two parts, the latest additions to the &Tradition repertoire encompass Day’s pragmatic design ethos. Comprised of reissued designs from 1951, a selection of forms included are available to purchase for the very first time since their inception. At the heart of the exhibition resides the Royal Festival Hall Collection, an iconic series of designs originally commissioned for London’s renowned waterfront structure, including the auditorium seating still in use today. Alongside this is the Daystak Collection which showcases Robin Day’s pioneering exploration of moulded plywood as a material that became a hallmark in his illustrious career. In addition to Robin Day’s iconic designs, the exhibition showcases the works of his wife and textile artist, Lucienne Day – one of the most influential British textile designers of her time. Throughout the showroom, visitors will also discover &Tradition’s new pieces by Space Copenhagen, Anderssen & Voll, Jaime Hayon, All the Way to Paris, Luca Nichetto and Sami Kallio, along with archive pieces from Hvidt & Mølgaard and Verner Panton.
