An exhibition featuring a selection of 1:1 scale sculptural chair prototypes or in progress / unfinished works from diverse emerging and established makers, surrounded by loose assembly of material tracing the process and inspiration of each relative piece. Opening with an event 16th of September, 6pm.

The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the prototype / work in progress materiality and moment of encapsulating the concept. We find the unrefined and experimental aspects of prototyping to be daring and open ended, an intuitive search to recognise success, articulating ideas into built forms. We desire to bring viewers closer to the idea of creating and to awaken appreciation for different mediums and the creative and technical processes involved in making a prototype and what usually follows it - a sculptural chair. By paying attention to the early physical representation of the idea and unrefined work aesthetic we would like to encourage discussion about values that guide our decision making and outcomes regarding making functional objects.
