A monumental, inhabitable sculpture placed on a wing of the listed façade of The Beaumont Mayfair. The interior, a bedroom, is as important as its exterior: a giant crouching cuboid figure based on the artist's body.
ROOM, by world-renowned artist Sir Antony Gormley, forms part of a suite of rooms at The Beaumont. A conjunction of sculpture and architecture, the crouching steel giant, three storeys high, perched on a wing of the Art Deco hotel, depicts the artist himself. Stepping in the cavernous, oak-clad bedroom contained within the work of art is an immersive experience like no other.
