Curated by Studio HANDS, ‘Shaping Spaces’ showcases the potential of everyday objects to transform the spaces we occupy. Among the pieces exhibited are furniture, prints, paintings and interior objects by studio HANDS, Akmaral Khassen, studio LOUD, and Ivan Zahrebeniuk.

studio HANDS An architecture and design practice formed by Henry McNeil and Sonya Batsova after collaborating on a number of projects including a bent wood installation at Burning Man 2018. The studio’s work ranges from product design to larger scale architecture projects. They adopt a hands-on approach, frequently engaging in initial prototyping and material testing before scaling their ideas. studio HANDS designs feature a subtle playfulness, incorporating color and materials in unique forms. Akmaral Khassen Akmaral's architectural practice began with a master's thesis in architecture school, focusing on hidden homelessness among women in the UK. Through extensive research and volunteering in shelters, she discovered that homeless women often lack access to menstrual hygiene. This led to a design proposal for a female-only hostel in Tower Hamlets, London, where the first prints were created as planning strategy diagrams. Since then, Akmaral's prints have explored themes of bodily rights, joy, and the softness of body forms. Her practice spans public art, bespoke installations, and community engagement. She has worked on various public art installations and murals with the London Festival of Architecture, local councils, charities, and funds. studio LOUD LOUD is a creative studio designing interiors, art and products. The studio is devoted to crafting spaces through purposeful, practical and personable design. LOUD’s character-driven process is guided by an understanding of research and narrative, resulting in solutions untethered from trends or conventions. Ivan Zahrebeniuk A multidisciplinary artist focused on expressing inner peace and love through every imaginable object. Media of choice include product design, architecture, 3D worlds, paintings, and prints. Ivan is driven and inspired by the idea of making the world a better place by introducing more colors to everyday life and objects, using recycled materials, and ensuring every object is comfortable to use.
