It invites you into an experimental co-creation experience where human creativity meets artificial intelligence. Developed by researcher Jiawen Li, this web-based tool transforms sketching into a collaborative dialogue designed to support creative ideation through intelligent visual conversation.

Join this immersive 30-minute online workshop—a one-to-one Zoom session with developer Jiawen Li. This isn't just a demonstration; it's a creative laboratory exploring how we think, sketch, and create with AI. What makes this different: Unlike drawing AI tools focused on efficiently generating polished results, this tool emphasises supporting the creative process itself—addressing a gap in current AI creativity research that most studies prioritise efficiency over the creative process. Also, the end-to-end generative AI may reduce diversity in collective novelty over time (Doshi and Hauser, 2023). This raises the question: do current AI tools constrain rather than support creative exploration? To support creative expressions, this tool offers two thinking modes that function as serendipity tools, prioritising unexpected discoveries over predictable outcomes. Divergent Thinking Mode acts like an imaginative, mischievous child—generating contrasting and unexpected visual elements that challenge your concepts and push creativity toward uncharted territories. Convergent Thinking Mode serves as a harmonious creative partner, contributing elements that complement and build upon your existing work. Every AI-generated image becomes movable and repositionable within your composition. The creative process unfolds as an iterative feedback loop where each stroke, prompt, and AI response informs the next decision—creating genuine collaboration between human intuition and computational possibility. Your experience: This is a relaxed, open exploration where you set the pace. Jiawen Li will be available throughout to assist when you encounter questions while using the tool, but there's no pressure to complete specific tasks. You're free to experiment with both thinking modes, discover how AI interpretation sparks unexpected directions, and learn effective prompting techniques at your own rhythm. If you're curious about the tool's development story or want to chat about human-AI creative collaboration, Jiawen is happy to share insights. The one-to-one format ensures a personalised, pressure-free experience tailored to your interests. This tool emerges from a 3-year research project investigating AI-supported creative processes. Currently focused on research rather than commercialisation, it explores how artificial intelligence can genuinely expand human creative potential. Jiawen Li combines expertise in AI research, user experience design, and creative practice. Whether you're a professional illustrator, fine artist, design educator, or creative technologist, this workshop offers hands-on experience with the future of creative practice. Come discover how artificial intelligence can become your most surprising creative collaborator. This is creative evolution. This is the future of artistic practice, being built in real-time. Come sketch the future.
