Shoreditch based product and pattern designer, Iona Thomas, AKA Styled by Night, invites you into her condemned studio, which she shares with a collective of multimedia artists and designers. Witness her creating one of her signature modular rugs, and have a go at tufting yourself.
Clean stripes, columns, curves, and a distinctive palette of rich colours, playfully named; caramel, wine gum, Turkish delight, and parma violet, are the signatures of this range. The collection comprises a striped mirror, versatile stackable stools, candy cushions, along with a series of rugs and tiles, both of which are playfully 'modular'. "Furniture should be fun", says Iona Thomas, who hand tufted the rugs and cast the jesmonite tiles herself, "there's no reason why high-end, handcrafted, and sophisticated products can't also be a little bit whimsical. This range is candy for grown-ups." By day Iona Thomas is founder and CEO of a successful creative agency in Shoreditch. Styled by Night is her independent side-project, which explores and encourages out-of-hours crafting, making, and designing. Zebrina launches at The Depot, 33 Boundary Street, E2 7JQ.
