The Wax Building is a new hub for independent British design brands debuting with Cozmo, Tamart, Minimalux, LightMass^ and Field-Day Studio. Located in the heart of Shoreditch, this former Victorian factory for waxing and shellacking furniture has been transformed into a vibrant space for creativity and innovation.

The Wax Building spans four floors. On the ground level, COZMO, a dynamic direct-to-consumer furniture brand, will establish its new permanent showroom. Cozmo was conceived to democratise design, collaborating with award-winning designers to create furniture that meets and anticipates modern consumers' needs and tastes. Their mantra, "Don’t Replace it, Update it," highlights their commitment to sustainability and customisability. With the showroom launch, Cozmo is unveiling two new product lines by Raw Edges Studio: the Float Sofa, a soft cubic modular sofa system with interchangeable jackets that appears to float above the ground, and the Cozy Bed with its cylindrical solid wood legs and padded interchangeable headboard. New award-winning design brand TAMART, founded by London-based architect Amos Goldreich, takes over the first floor to present their new permanent showroom. Tamart honours the creative work and love story of his modernist, polymath parents, Tamar de Shalit and Arthur Goldreich. Created from an archive of over 10,000 original plans and documents discovered and catalogued by Goldreich. Debuting with an initial offering of 10 reimagined mid-century furniture products, each piece exemplifying his parent’s timeless approach to design: connecting the present with the indelible mark they left on the modernist design scene. Tamart’s new home in The Wax Building, continues this journey of expression, and launches with a furniture presentation set within Sir Charles Clore’s penthouse. The second storey displays an exhibition from MINIMALUX. Known for its simple, enduring products, Minimalux presents new lighting and accessories for 2024, themed and inspired by a period spent in a rural studio location. From its foundation over a decade ago the British brand has maintained its creative philosophy through ageless, understated forms and solid, lasting materials. A combination of locally sourced industrial production and artisan techniques have become recognised hallmarks of a collection with a distinctly modern take on a heritage of craft and engineering. The primary considerations of materiality and form stem from the background and artistic roots of designer and co-founder, Mark Holmes. Debuting in the basement is LIGHTMASS^, a new lighting company by Raw-Edges Design Studio. which creates large and weightless sculptural luminous structures from a single material with minimal impact to the environment thanks to an innovative fabrication process. Studio founders Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay have developed LightMass^ as a response to the evolving landscape of lighting technology. With LED systems eliminating the need for traditional shades, lighting fixtures have begun to disappear into walls and ceilings. LightMass^ fills this void with voluminous, gossamer-light pieces that occupy space with their essential, sheer forms. The graphic identity and visuals for this new venue, throughout the building are created by FIELD-DAY STUDIO, a design bureau renowned for its award-winning art direction, specialising in cultural initiatives and 360-degree commercial branding. The Wax Builidng is to become a platform for connecting and showcasing creative industry talents and events throughout the year.
